A SERIES OF JUVENILE JUSTICE TRAINING FOR THE JUDGES COMPLETED The National Judicial Academy organized a series of Juvenile Justice Training for District Court Judges covering 110 judges in five groups. The NJA also conducted Juvenile Justice Training for Court of Appeal Judges covering 22 judges. The program for district judges started on Mansir 9, 2064 (Nov 25th 2007) and ended on Poush 16th 2064 (31st Dec., 2007). The program for Court of Appeal Judges conducted from 27th to 31st Dec., 2007. This was in partnership with the Central Children Welfare Board (CCWB).During the programs, participants were taken to Child Reform House at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur for a visit so that they would see the existing facilities and situations of the children who were sent for the correction. This training program has been considered a major training activity of the NJA for this year. All programs followed adult learning methods. Question/answer and discussions was held during the programs. Useful interactions were held among the participants and facilitators. With a view to transfer of knowledge and skills, the participants had to make a presentation about the hardship that they experienced and experiences of their professional life. The training consisted four sessions a day. One and half hour was allotted for each session.Hon. Rajendra Kharel, District Judge and Faculty of the NJA was Chief Coordinator of the Program and Mr. Shreekrishman Mulmi, Research Officer, NJA was the Coordinator of the program. |
