The National Judicial Academy (NJA), a member of the International Organization for Judicial Training was established in 2004 to serve training and research needs of the judges, government attorneys, government legal officers, judicial officers, private law practitioners and others who are directly involve in the administration of justice in Nepal. Brought into existence under the NJA Ordinance in 2004 it is an autonomous statutory body that works under the broad policy guidelines of the thirteen-member Governing Council headed by the Right Honourable Chief Justice. The Ordinance also provides for a seven-member Executive Committee headed by the Executive Director of the NJA.
